Story: Ruby and her colt, Gem, arrived from a Nevada feedlot on May 28, 2011. Ruby was very thin, in poor condition. Gem was tiny, but in surprisingly decent condition, as Ruby was depleting herself to feed him. Ruby’s teeth were in poor condition, as clumps of partially chewed hay fell from her mouth. Trainer Notes: Ruby was untouchable when she arrived, but today is learning to trust and can perform basic groundwork skills. She would be a wonderful companion horse or a sweet older project horse. Like her buddy Willow, Ruby has a calm, gentle temperament.
Health: Ruby was very slow to gain weight, but gained rapidly after teeth were floated (October 2011) and her colt was weaned. She’s coming along very nicely. Issues: None. Adoption Fee: $450. On current vaccine, worming, and hoof care schedule.
