LoneStar's Story
LoneStar came to AAE from a family distress situation with his aging owner having difficulty providing care. His hooves and dental care had been neglected for several years, and he had not had much attention after the passing of his "mom" a few years prior to coming to AAE.
LoneStar is a very nice middle-aged gelding. He is calm, gentle, and willing to please. He is being evaluated under saddle, and so far, he's doing fantastic. He has issues with needles! LoneStar is a volunteer favorite, and he is being evaluated as a program horse at AAE to step into the role of some of our aging program horses.
LoneStar is current with dental and hoof care, vaccinations, and deworming, and he has a microchip in place. LoneStar tested negative for Cushing's disease, and positive for insulin resistance. He is on a special diet and receives a daily supplement.
