AAE’s available horses are horses that have been deemed “adoptable” and ready to move on to permanent homes with their own person.
Most, if not all, will be have had a basic vet check (not an extensive pre-purchase exam) and a dental exam (and treatment, if needed). They will also be current with vaccinations, deworming, and hoof care.
For more information about a horse, click on the it’s name to link you to the horse’s page. If you have questions about a specific horse or you are interested in adopting one, please contact AAE for further information.
AAE prefers you take your time in choosing your horse. You are encouraged to visit the rescue (by appointment only) to spend adequate time interacting with a horse before making a decision, as it is important to assure an appropriate match.
AAE has an adoption process that includes an application, review of references, inspection of housing, an adoption agreement, and payment of an adoption fee.
While waiting for permanent homes, these horses need sponsors to support their basic care, as well as veterinary care, if any. If you are interested in sponsoring one of the available horses while they await a permanent home, please consider sponsoring their care until they are adoptable. Again, sponsorships provide funding that provides opportunity for future and ongoing rescue efforts.
Please take time to schedule a visit. Although we do our best, our photos do NOT do justice to the appearance and character of our horses.
