Story: Ruby and her colt, Gem, arrived from a Nevada feedlot on May 28, 2011. Ruby was very thin, in poor condition. Gem was tiny, but in surprisingly decent condition, as Ruby was depleting herself to feed him. Ruby’s teeth were in poor condition, as clumps of partially chewed hay fell from her mouth. Gem is an adorable, refined, and athletic looking foal with super sweet personality. Trainer Notes: Ruby was untouchable when she arrived, and is still untrusting of humans, but she’s learning basic groundwork skills. She’s a very willing mare, just taking time to develop trust in humans. Health: Ruby was very slow to gain weight, but gained rapidly after teeth were floated (October 2011) and her colt was weaned.
