| Story: Zia was a surprise. Her mom, Zuni, arrived with her sister, Fallon, from a Nevada Feedlot in June of 2009. We didn’t know Zuni was pregnant. After months of an ever-growing belly, we suspected Zuni might be pregnant and had an ultrasound done in January of 2010. Sure enough, baby was on board. In March of 2010, Zuni and her unborn foal became the subject of A Ranch Of Light’s “Horse Birth and Beyond” youth project. Zia was born early on a Saturday morning before the third meeting of the class, so the students got to see her and mom about an hour after birth. She was imprinted and the class continued for 6 to 8 weeks, learning about handling a young foal.Training Notes: Zia learned her basic groundwork while at A Ranch of Light. Upon return to AAE, she was partnered with our resident filly, Stella, for socializing, companionship, and subsequent reintroduction to AAE’s herd. Zia is an absolutely adorable little pony filly with a huge personality. She will find you in the field and loves attention and grooming. She’s advanced well with her groundwork. She is a total character.Health: Good.
Issues: None known Adoption fee: $450. On regular vaccine, deworming, and hoof care schedules. For more pics of Zia, click here.
