Story: Ziggy was donated to AAEAR in July 2009 by his loving mom who was unable to keep him.
Training Notes: Ziggy is well trained to ride, and has logged many miles/hours on the trail by beginner to advanced riders. He’s very good in the arena, moves easily off leg pressure and knows his leads. He is a wonderful horse, and wants to please. He’s sensitive to his riders requests, has a light mouth, and needs to be ridden by a rider who’s in touch with his/her horse, he has tons of personality, loves attention and grooming. He’s been ridden English and Western by our youth and adult volunteers.
He’s currently used as a lesson horse, and as an occasional trail horse. He is very well trained; knows how to go into the bridle well, flying changes, great trot, english or western, jumps, etc. He has great energy and is fun to ride. Ziggy is an amazing trail horse that is not spooky and loves to go move out on trail. He is suitable for novice or higher rider in an arena and on trail. He does best with a quiet, patient and soft rider. Ziggy recently showed, and won ribbons, in both english and western classes. he ties, bathes, trailers, and he’s good for vet/farrier/dentist. He is good in the arena and loves to have a job, but he enjoys his trail time too.
Health: Good Issues: Loves to play the catching game, especially in a large field! He’s not keen on loading into a trailer, but will load with patience and a little encouragement with a butt rope or other pressure from behind. Adoption Fee: AAE will consider adoption to a home where Ziggy would be a one-person horse, ideally an intermediate level/confident youth rider interested in 4H activities where he will be pampered as he deserves.
