Story: Josie arrived from a Nevada feedlot on May 21, 2010. She’s one of the fortunate ones that was not emaciated and neglected.  Her ranched just felt the need to reduce his herd and cash-in on 14 plump and very pregnant mares. We were told Josie was in foal, but ultrasound says she is NOT pregnant.

Trainer Notes:  Josie is a beautifu black-bay Morgan-X mare, well-built and stout.  Although she stands approx. 14.3 hands, she is a big horse in appearance and substance.  She appreciates a good grooming and pets, and she is easy to catch and lead.  She is a very nice riding horse; it is evident someone has put some miles on her!  She knows lateral cues and did some rollbacks at the trot, as well as a sidepass both directions and was easy to back.  She picked up both leads at the canter and behaved beautifully in her roundpen work.

She is medium energy, preferring to trot around the arena than canter, but was willing to move forward with energetic cues. She is agreeable and rode both in the bridle and bosal, prefers to direct rein.  She can be pushy on the ground while working with her feet and likes to take the lead.  With consistent handling, good leadership & a refresher course Josie would be an excellent trail companion or arena games horse who is pretty enough to show!
