Roman

Story: Roman and two of his buddies arrived from a Nevada feedlot on September 30, 2009. After a tough roundup by their rancher, Roman and his buddies were orphaned at the feedlot when they were stripped from their moms who were shipped to slaughter. Roman is from a Doc Bar sire and Thoroughbred dam.

Trainer Notes:  Roman is probably the tallest of the Doc Bar colts and very assertive / dominant in the field with other horses, hence he gets his own paddock!  Roman is easy to catch, lead and groom, though he is very rope sensitive and still needs desensitizing work to ropes & leads around his body.  He will follow his handler in and out of the barn, and comes right up for pets and attention.  He is learning to pick up all four feet and stand tied, and is currently in the process of learning to back, yield forehand & hindquarter and the head down cue.  Roman would do best with a confident knowledgeable owner who can impart confidence with ropes & lead his naturally confident personality.
