| Story: Tasia is sound; she hasn’t been worked hard! She has no current health issues; however, she coliced once about 11-12 years ago. She’s had a laceration on her nose and on a forefoot years ago; all healed with small visible scars. Her teeth were floated May 2010, and the vet advised skipping this year.Tasia is an easy keeper. She currently receives one flake of grass (80%)/alfalfa(20%) hay 2 times a day. She loves treats – bread, carrots, horse cookies.
She has had some trick training; she almost has a “bow” down. She lifts her legs in succession; and she will touch cones with her nose. She also likes to get a mouthful of water and spit it out on her salt block so she doesn’t have to work too hard licking.
She loves going for walks, and enjoyed trail riding. She was going to be used for endurance, as she is fearless out on the trail.
Tasia was raised with her dam and an Arabian gelding, Marash. She and Marash were great friends. He passed a few years ago. He was 29. Last July, Tasia was introduced to a new gelding, and she was furious. She became aggressive towards her dam. She spends her day in a 12 X 24 covered area, and her nights out in a 3/4 acre paddock. She has settled down, but she’s not trusted with the new gelding.
Both trainers that have worked with Tasia have commented on her confidence; she would definitely be the boss mare in a herd. She will test gates and latches. She often paws when tied. Loads and trailers well, even though she had a little trouble getting her in a 2-horse Miley trailer years ago, when she was 4. She hadn’t been ridden in a while, but a trainer recently evaluated her a few weeks ago. She hopped right on, and Tasia did really well! She is like border collie that doesn’t have a job….all that energy and smarts gets used in not so productive ways!
Health: No known health issues.
Issues: None known.
