Meet Sham. Sham is in need of a new home. Here is what his owner wrote about him. "He is an Arabian gelding, and he’s a great horse! He’s been camping, he’s qualified for the Folsom Lake Mounted Patrol earlier in 2015, he’s been ridden in the Placerville Christmas Parade, he’s even been led by a dog… you can find him on YouTube under “Dog takes over horse training” by Beth Burrell, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grk2ioZG0OM ) where my Black Lab, Dutch, leads Sham around the property. Although Sham is 25 years old, he is often seen playing and running around long after his pasture mate has gotten tired. He may be older in years, but not in spirit. He LOVES to trail ride! He gives you his all and just has a great time out there. It’s where he comes alive. He doesn’t enjoy arena work all that much, but with a confident rider he’ll give in and do what you ask. He is not for the beginner rider, although he is gentle and kind. Children and dogs can be around, under and behind him. He’s been painted by my daughter and her friends- he just stands there and enjoys the attention. He loads, ties, clips, and stands for the farrier all calmly and easily. Sham doesn’t need shoes- he’s got fantastic feet! He loves to play with cows, too! He’s a “been there, done that” kinda guy- nothing much startles him. I often use him to help other horses overcome their fears. Sham could also be used as a therapy horse or for kids for 4H."
Sham is located near Folsom Lake. Please contact AAE if you are interested in Sham.
