Bartley's Story

Bartley and his three siblings were found at just about one-week old with their stray mom, Birdie, who was scavenging for food along the river next to a golf course behind the fifth hole. Mom was very thin, and all were covered in fleas.

During their time at AAE, the little family has received all the necessary care including vet exams, vaccines, flea removal, deworming and a healthy feeding schedule. With a healthy, well-fed mom, the puppies have been growing steadily and gaining weight as puppies should.

Bartley and his siblings have been spending lots of time with AAE volunteers to learn how to socialize with humans. Bartley has never been shy about using his voice. In fact, his squeaks helped lead us to the rest of the litter. He remains the most vocal of the group and loves interacting with people, whether that means playtime, cuddles, or being picked up for a closer look at the world.

Bartley has received his first round of vaccines and is up to date with deworming. He will receive booster vaccines, a microchip, and neuter procedure before being ready for adoption.
