Eddie's Story

Eddie came to AAE with his pal, Rosalie, at the end of 2025 after a family health and financial crisis. He was thin and lacking basic care needs. When we met, he was easy to halter, and he loaded onto the trailer behind Rosalie without issue. He traveled well, unloaded like he'd done it a million times, and he settled quickly. We were told he was a family riding horse.

Shortly after arrival, he had much needed dental care, sheath cleaning, and vaccines. He was also microchipped. He's on the schedule with the farrier in a few days, too.

Eddie is a mild-mannered guy with a super cute personality. So far, he's easy to handle, gives his hooves easily, and seems to enjoy humans. Stay tuned while we get to know this sweet boy.

Eddie will soon be current with dental and hoof care, vaccines and deworming, and he has a microchip in place.

In general, there is a lot of activity around AAE including vehicle and foot traffic in and out of paddock/pasture areas, mucking with wheelbarrows, grooming and care activities, tractor and trailering, weekly farrier visits.  There are resident dogs, cats, goats, cows, and mini horses, mini donkeys, and a mini mule, as well as various wildlife including frequent turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, deer, coyote, and bobcats in and around paddock/pasture areas.  A portion of AAE is situated along a highway with high speed vehicles, trucks, and sirens.  Tractors are used in and around pasture/paddock areas, trucks deliver feed, and a squeeze is occasionally used for unloading hay.  Horses at AAE are accustomed to a more active environment as opposed to a quiet/sterile environment. Some do well; others will do better in a more quiet environment.​
