April
April's Story
AAE took in this pretty and petite lil' mare in November 2013 after relinquishment by her owner due to a financial distress situation. She was thin and needing attention. April is a sweet, but timid mare. We were told she was not saddle trained. Upon completion of quarantine, she will be scheduled for desperately needed dental and hoof hoof care. She wasn't the easiest to load, but she ultimately stepped into the trailer with a little encouragement from a butt rope.
February Update: April's recently had her dental work (thank you, Melissa Shurr) and her second hoof trim (thank you, Matt Kiwala). April is a bit on the shy side, but really beginning to enjoy human interaction. Most time with April has been spent building trust and socializing. She's rough around the edges, but with some TLC, she's going to be a nice little mare. For more photos, visit her Facebook album.
