Dental Clinics

Dental Clinics

AAE sponsors periodic dental clinics open to any horse owner in the community. Dental services are provided by Melissa Shurr, CEqDT, with sedation (usually) by Diana Stolba, DVM, of Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center. Clinics are typically held at Cedar Springs Arena and Livery in Placerville. Please see our Calendar for the next clinic and sign up today to reserve your time.

How Often Should Horses Be Checked?
Routine dental maintenance and equilibration begins in the late yearling. Owners, managers, and trainers should keep in mind that dentition in the horse is ever changing. Horses under five years of age are constantly cutting teeth. For the best performance, horses should be evaluated on a regular basis.
