AAE has many ongoing needs associated with daily care of the horses.  AAE also has a lot of facility needs to help improve the care of the horses or to make our volunteer efforts more efficient. If you’d like to make an in-kind donation to AAE, please prepare a list of items and their estimated value, and deliver the list and items to AAE. Horse Care – Ongoing needs:

  • Quality Hay (orchard grass, alfalfa, orchard/alfalfa, teff),
  • Senior feed (Elk Grove Milling Senior Stable Mix, Purina Senior, LMF Senior)
  • Low Carb feed (Elk Grove Milling Lite, LMF Low Carb)
  • Grain, Feed and Nutritional Supplements, Vitamins, etc.
  • Shavings (Bedding)
  • Salt & mineral blocks and bricks
  • Dewormers
  • Vaccines
  • First Aid Supplies
  • Fly masks / Fly spray / Fly sheets
  • Winter Blankets (waterproof)
  • Saddles/Tack (For program/training uses, first, and surplus to raise funds through AAE Used Tack Store; store proceeds support AAE operations)
  • Brushes/Grooming Tools
  • Soft Ride boots

Facility – We need and can always use typical horse/barn equipment and supplies, and we have improvement/expansion plans including a covered arena, paddock expansions, cross-fencing, facility repairs, etc.:
  • Fencing Materials (pressure treated 6"x6"x8' wood posts, pressure treated lodge poles, 8"x8', 5' no-climb horse wire,
          7' t-posts/clips/caps, metal posts, concrete, gates, electric fencing materials, etc.)
  • Barns (quarantine, program hors)
  • Shelters (10' x 12')
  • Pipe panels and gates (12' x 5', 12' x 6' heavy duty)
  • Stock Trailer (Bumper pull, ours is very aged/worn)
  • Bobcat
  • ATV/Gator/Mule/Ranger/Side-by-side (4-6 seater)
  • Feed / Water Troughs
  • Garden Carts / Wheelbarrows
  • Plastic Barrels for Feed / Water
  • Automatic Waterers / Floats
  • PVC, Hoses / Hose Accessories and Repair Kits
  • Stall Mats (4' x 6' x 3/4")
  • Fans for stalls
  • Large Dry Erase Boards

  • Land or ranch facilities for expanding programs or to provide sanctuary for mustangs and/or senior horses.  There is an immense for more space for seniors, retired horses, and mustangs.
