Clayton

Clayton is a cute little roan who was orphaned at the feedlot, likely when his mom was shipped off to slaughter. Alone and starving, he luckily was adopted by a kind mare who already had a nursing foal. All three arrived from the Nevada feedlot in July 2009. Clayton was emaciated and in poor shape, which included a large open wound over his rear fetlock joint and a corneal ulcer. Volunteers worked night and day to restore him to good health. One of those volunteers, Linda, fell in love with him and adopted him to be her own special companion.
