Foley's Story

AAE welcomed Foley, a little "red" colt, and his mom, Gentry, a pretty young mare from the DreamCatcher Wild Horse and Burro Sanctuary in September 2017.  When they arrived, young Foley seemed a bit lethargic and small for his age; mom was small, too. Nothing significant was found during vet exam.  After a few weeks at AAE, his energy level increased, and he was finally running and bucking through his paddock, like baby boys do.  That being said, he was still a calm, easy-going gentleman for such a young squirt.

This little guy is one of the nicest, sweetest, and respectful most of the time little gents, and we can't believe he is STILL here.  Any experienced horse peeps out there looking for a super fun, straight-forward little project pony will not be disappointed!  He is handsome and well built to boot.

Foley halters and leads easily, he enjoys grooming and attention, he is good with his hooves, and he stands fairly quietly for the farrier.  He's loading well, but could benefit from more practice.  He is a youngster and struggles a little bit with patience, but for the most part, he's just a great little guy.  Foley is a handsome, level-headed youngster, and he is a very social, "meet you at the gate" kind of guy.  He is a quick learner that is eager to please. Foley stands about 13.2 hh, and we're hopeful he will mature to a pony-sized, 14.0hh, as Mom was about 14.0 hh.  Foley is ready for his new home.  He is an uncomplicated, laid back lil guy with a clean slate, and he should be a straight-forward project for a smaller person.

Foley is up to date with vaccines, deworming, and hoof care, and he has a microchip in place.  He will have a dental check in May 2019.
