Johnny Adopted!
Johnny's Story
Johnny was born at AAE after his mama, June, came to AAE from the DreamCatcher Wild Horse and Burro Sanctuary in February 2018. AAE has been supporting DreamCatcher's herd reduction efforts since April of 2017 after the long illness and passing of their Executive Director, Barbara Clarke, in November of 2016.
Johnny was a quite shy, and handling after birth and beyond, he was not keen on humans. It wasn't until he was moved to a pasture environment with the other mares and foals that his confidence, curiousity and trust grew. He was introduced to a halter and leading, and and it took some time for him to understand the process. Once he figured out he could think, again, his confidence and curiousity grew. He's a super cute lil' guy!
Johnny is current with vaccines and deworming, and he is still learning about hoof care.
