Tegan's Story

AAE welcomed Tegan and her weeks old colt, Austin, from the DreamCatcher Wild Horse and Burro Sanctuary in April of 2018 to support their herd reduction efforts after the long illness and passing of their Executive Director, Barbara Clarke in November of 2016. Tegan is a sweet, confident, but mild-mannered mare. She wasn't too opposed human touch, and she accepted a halter fairly easily.  Tegan has been haltered and handled some, and she is a very smart girl.  She needs more time socializing and learning to trust, but she is very and has a lot of try.  She's still a work in progress, but surprises with every activity.

Tegan is a cute and flashy 2013-ish mare.  She's an easy going, middle of the pack, no nonsense little gal.  She has a clean slate and should make a pretty straightforward effort to bring her along. Tegan is looking for her forever home with a mustang-experienced person.
Tegan is currently at the Monty Roberts International Learning Center (MRILC) as a part of the Advanced Course for Horsemanship.

Update: Tegan has just returned from Monty Roberts! While there she was saddled, ground driven, and had lots of basic handling. She is ready too continue her training. She is athletic, and intelligent. She showed promise over fences when free jumped and could
possibly be a cute little jumper or eventer!

Tegan is current with hoof and dental care, vaccines and deworming.  She has a microchip in place.
