Tilly and her colt McGraw came to AAE in the end of June 2014 after an animal control cruelty seizure. Both mother and son were in poor, emaciated condition with ribs and hip bones exposed. After intake, Tilly suffered a serious case of colic and also was diagnosed with a likely suspensory tear in a rear leg. Fortunately, after months of stall rest and small paddock turnout, she was cleared by the vet for light progressive work and has a good prognosis for future use. There is no doubt this girl is a fighter with a strong will to survive. She has shown no lameness, mobility issues or hesitation to turn in any direction. She is likely not a good candidate as a competition or performance horse but should be well suited for use as a pleasure riding horse after saddle training.
Tilly appeared only minimally handled when she arrived. She has gained a lot of confidence since then, and she enjoys any kind of attention. She is an incredibly gentle, kind and willing mare. She knows the basics but it does not appear she has been started under saddle. She is ready for training and will make someone an amazing partner. She is current with vaccines, deworming, and dental and hoof care.
